WHEN I WAS A HORSE-CRAZY KID, THE REST OF MY FAMILY ATE BACON AND EGGS FOR BREAKFAST WHILE I faithfully ate wheaties\u2014<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Breakfast of Champions!\u201d Every box featured a well-known athlete who was supposed to inspire the eater to great feats. But no matter how long I ate that cereal they never ran a champion equestrian, so eventually I switched to the family breakfast menu.<\/p>\n

Today, the breakfast of a champion still matters, especially if you\u2019re a horse. And lunch and dinner are just as important. In fact, equine nutritionists will tell you food as fuel for performance can be a critical factor in a make-or-break season.<\/p>\n
